Maybe they should add a feature in steam workshop or with an editor how you get a piece of clothing and edit the texture on it, like leather jackets having MC patches on them, Then when you find the item it appears serverside. Would love to show my Soviet Pride to everybody that we are not a bikie gang worth pissing off.

You should only be able to take your clothing off if you have other clothing available for changing clothes. (and then clothing should just switch instantly, without seeing the underwear)

Bro underwear parties FTW. Heck add BDSM Clothing like ballgag and all that stuff, would attract lols.

This is exactly what I don't think DayZ needs. DayZ is a game about survival, not about running around in cherno while wearing gimp suits. While yes, in real life, you could do this, if it doesn't enhance the main aspect of survival, then it shouldn't be implimented. Personally, I do not know how bondage would help out during a zombie apocalypse.

People will find ways to look retarded with freedom of choice. Although, making it impractical to go around in underwear and helmet in cherno only. The helmet, I believe, is going to be limiting a character's vision. IMO you shouldn't have the ability to go into 3rd person but you can see your character in the Inventory menu. BUT that is a different topic.

Also this post reminds me of this:

Call it "stress relief".

It's not everyone's cup of tea.

There are a LOT of features folk want to see in DayZ, which don't strictly revolve around survival. More variety, in every regard, just creates more depth in the world.

Clothing and freedom of expression wouldn't necessarily be harmful to any survival and would in fact be beneficial to the social aspects of DayZ.

There might be a case for expression and customisation going "too far", but the rarity of items and unpredictability of loot-spawning will ensure that it's unlikely you'll come toe to toe with an army of clowns and ballerinas, even if the clothing options DO exist in there somewhere.

Hi guys. Here are a few opinions about the new feature of clothing. First, heres one of Dean Hall's dev blogs featuring it: http://www.youtube.c...?v=W8xcv51C2ug.

Do i like the idea of having various clothing? Yes, I do. I am into it quite a bit. That being said, there are a few things in the video that I don't like.

REMEMBER THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION!

First off, the fact that you can be in your underwear. I don't know why, but i'm not a huge fan of that. You'd never come to a zombie infested island with a white shirt and boxers on. At least start out with maybe a pair of jeans. As for girls, don't let them take their clothes off too much either. Running through cherno naked with chemlights = new biggest thing if they keep this in probably.

Also, too many helmets/hats = bad. In WarZ, people started killing other people because they had a hat they wanted, and i don't want that to start. Also, if there is too many hats, this will turn into team fortress 2, where people want to collect hats.

Also, im not sure if they are implementing this, but make certain clothes help out with temperature. Example: Warm clothes help out in night, while they make you more thirsty (sweaty) during the day (if its hot out).

Here are some clothing types that i DO support (Assuming the shirt designs don't have ridiculous logos on them:

Jeans

Tshirts (Various types and styles, plain, checkered, etc.)

Long Sleeved shirts

Vests (like the current survivors have on)

Hats (not helmets)

Sweaters and Coats

Shorts

Other forms of pants

Military clothing (ghillie suits, etc. Keep those in, but make the clothing package unique)

Clothes that I do not like:

Helmets

Underwear

Ridiculous costumes

Masks (im fine with bandanas like what bandits have on, but don't add hockey masks, clown masks, etc.)

Weird Hair (This isn't a clothe, i know, but i don't want to see some random mohawk bicycle gang. This isn't mad max XD)

Here is what i think a survivor should look like: http://i47.tinypic.com/2ikulmt.jpg

Heres 2 pictures of what i don't think characters should look like (Heres some super buff guy: http://i1.ytimg.com/...o/hqdefault.jpg)

Heres a guy with a hockey mask on (I hate this): http://www.mmogames....creenshot-3.png

Finally, my opinion on character customization: Faces and gender only. Nothing else. Keep it simple. Don't add the ability to make your character fat, skinny, super tall, or a shrimp. You can also edit gender, but thats about it. As for hair color, don't give the ability to die your hair pink or something stupid. Please.

As a little summary, keep character customization / clothing simple. Make it so you can identify your friends from other people, but don't make it way too customizable and crazy. Make people look normal! Thats it. Hope you agree. If you don't, tell me what you don't agree with. Leave your opinion about this down below!.

Gas masks please.

Not entirely practical but would be a neat feature to character customization.

Already confirmed in a screenshot.

I'm a huge fan of mismatching shoes.

One shoe for climbing and one shoe for trekking and curb stomping bitches.

I agree to your point that it can be rather comical and ridiculous for people running around in their underwear, but restricting a player's freedom - that freedom being what to wear - will only upset a playerbase. Besides, running around nearly naked at night will only lead the last laugh being the person who loots their fresh corpse after they die of hypothermia.

Some of the main point of clothing is to make people stand out from one another, and to give expression. This suggestions will only remove those things. Besides, what if people do want to express themselves by having a pink-haired-bunny-suited-hockey-mask-wearing gang of bandits? That will certainly scare the shit out of me.

Sometimes you need the jesters in the population to prove that it is indeed free to be moronic despite it not getting us anywhere.

E: No purple dildos, though. That's out of the question.

Pink bunny suits suggests to me that they might be handing out Easter eggs.

It would also develop the seriousness that player feels, a player wearing all camo is probably going to be pretty tactical, while a bunny suit bandit is probably going to run right at you with an axe.

I think only 10% or so of backpacks should be military grade.

The rest should be everything from a sack on a string, to a duffel bag, man bags, purses etc etc etc

I think bags should be save able so you can use them as camp storage.
