New to Dayz and FPS games

Recommended Posts

Hello I'm new to Dayz and FPS games

I prefer to learn on my own and yes have died a few times already but that just makes the game real.

I want to play on servers that only have the default DayZ setup and load out. I hate bullet tracers and name labels in game I have learned how to tell when a server is using those. I use DayZ Commander and have filter set to "DayZ only" but I joined a server and had all kinds of gear at spawn. Is there a way to tell which servers give you extra gear from the ones that don't? I do read server description but load out is not always there.

Hey dude, some private hive servers set you at spawn with some ridiculous gear. I have even seen some that spawn you with a DMR. Unless they have the loadout listed, the only way to find out is by joining it:/.

But,

Balota Buddies is a great private hive. You spawn with the basics. Painkillers, bandaid, and a flashlight. BB also offers a great community and good servers with no hackers on the whitelisted servers. Come check us out and get whitelisted at http://balotabuddies.net/.

Balota Buddies have a few good servers.

Alternatively if you're in EU the AWA servers are pretty good too and run completely stock/vanilla DayZ. I prefer AWA #2 as #1 has no day/night cycle.

Both of the above servers require you to become whitelisted before you can play there, it's a precaution that helps keep hackers and other undesirables out.

Well if you don't mind the public hive, all you have to do is simply check the "hide unofficial" option on your DayZ Commander filters, and this will give you all the public hive servers, that can only run vanilla dayz. If you do however prefer private hives, see above.

I think it's actually a pretty good start. If you are new to fps, you can use simple logic and do whatever you would do in reallife- that's what you need to do in DayZ. If you are used to FPS, you tend to always reload and not think about the fact that you still have half-empty magazines. When I was new to FPS, I didn't reload because I thought I'd throw the magazine away and waste ammo- now I always have to force myself not to reload in DayZ to not have a half-empty magazine in my inventory when I need a full one. Things like boiling water are also simple reallife logic which you might forget if you play other FPS often.

I've just got a server and i'm aiming it at new people, you do spawn with the basic pistol in it, but that is easily removed if people don't like it.

It's all vanilla and we're always welcoming to new players, swing by and check it out.

Server name:

Mr Yoloswag's New Player Paradise

Server IP:

185.2.139.156:3102

We hope to see you in game and help you out :)

I'd search for the word 'Vanilla' as it would likely return more standard servers ;)
