Copperore14 0 Posted June 2, 2013 I just got ArmA II:CO and the DayZ mod and I have no idea what is going on with the servers.I got DayZ Commander and I read that I should remove unofficial servers. I know that some servers ("public hives"?) are connected where you spawn with the same items and location. I do not know if unofficial = private and official = public, but I would like to know how this whole thing works.I am constantly trying new servers because there are so many different game-modes, Veteran/Noob, Origin etc. (I have no idea what I am talking about). When I join these servers, they sometimes ask me about what map I want to join, characters and other things.SHORT VERSION - How can I find servers where I will span with the same items and map?Thanks guys, I can't wait to get into the game. fluxley 2228 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) You got it rightOfficial = Public, all character data (gear and location) is saved to a central database and carries over to other servers.Unofficial = Private, most have their own database so gear and location is only for that server, there are some exceptions to this, some private hives may 2 or more servers linked together.
