DayZ wont open, arma 2 works fine

I just built this computer 2 days ago.

Core i5 3570

Geforce GTX 550 ti

8gb 1600mhz ballistix ram

msi z77a-g41 mobo

thermaltake 600w power supply

toshiba 7200 rpm hd 500gb

this machine runs arma 2 single player perfect. nothing wrong. but i cannot connect to dayz via dayz commander or steam. i get to the black screen with the DayZ logo and the yellowish loading bar at the bottom. the bar gets to about 80-85% then it closes and says arma 2 oa has encountered an error. sometimes it just hangs at 80-85% and if i do ctrl+alt+del when it gets stuck then it says "arma 2 oa has encountered a validation error" - options are: ignore once, ignore always, do not ignore. any one of these options will close arma and then say "arma 2 has encountered an error"

i installed arma 2 via steam and the dayz mod via dayz commander.

i have no problems connecting with my laptop to dayz.

i managed to connect to wasteland one time and it worked fine (now it doesnt)

dayz managed to get in one time (i was killed instantly by a spawn camper....) and now i get the issue stated above ^^.

yes latest graphics card driver is installed. (wouldnt arma 2 not work as well if it was the driver?)

yes i updated bios.

yes i installed all drivers that came with the mobo cd.

yes i have reinstalled arma 2 and operation arrowhead (3 times)

yes i have reinstalled the operating system (windows 7 professional)

ran sfc /scannow in cmd = pass

memtest86 = pass

hard disk scan for errors = pass

my router is >4 feet away from my tower. (wireless connection but i get a full signal and up to 3.5mbs download speed from steam)

hopefully i covered most of the faq's regarding arma 2 crashes.

i am thoroughly stumped on this one. any suggestions?

Have you downloaded the beta patch from the DayZ Commander's install/update tab?

Or possibly download it manually, here: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

yes i downloaded the beta patch from dayz commander. i followed your link. how is it that dayz commander is 3 beta patches behind? weird, anyways im downloading 105785. but if that is the issue why would 103419 still work on my laptop?

when i went to install 105785 it said "wrong cd key"

FIXED: I got the debug version of windows 7 professional on accident.
