Installation question, i think.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I got asked this question during my stream last night and I am not sure how to answer it. So I am deferring to those who are a bit more knowledgeable than I am.

They were wondering if they went over to their friends signed into their steam on the friends computer and install the Arma II and OA files on to that computer, and their friend just bought a CD key that they would be able to play Day Z together.

This one stumped me, I am not sure if it is even possible.

Thank you

~Mossy

If it's on steam, no. Because you both can't be logged into steam, and as far as I'm concerned, the majority of CD keys, are stolen, unless they're sold by Bohemia, and I don't think they sell them.

He would have to get the cd key from steam then manually replace the old one.

its possible to buy a second copy of Arma using a second steam account... problem comes in your registry when u boot up the second copy it still reads your first installed copies cd-key and uses that GUID... there is a work around for it though I dont know how to do it. Im pretty sure Sacriel uses at least 2 or 3 cd keys for multiple characters at a time, might want to check his youtube channel and see if hes got a way there to swap out your cd-keys. Best of luck with it

Tasty Burritos are tasty!

I know Sacriel uses multiple CD-Key, I have plenty of questions, I'd love to ask him. How to make a moobot, chat overlay? But I highly doubt any of my question would be answered ever.
