ArmA II editor variant in DayZ plus DayZ SA Video Suggestion

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this has been suggested already. If it has, then maybe its a sign that it should be implemented.

Now. Implementing a mechanic that has been in a lot of games by Bohemia Interactive to the DayZ standalone - another game by Bohemia Interactive, would be a very logical desicion if the Dev Team puts it in. All they have to to is make it easier to use ( like making a menu for giving units weapons instead of having to script ). This would be used for making films and cinematics about DayZ. Rocket did say that he'd like there to be a way to film movies and things. What better way to raise publicity levels than to have the community make videos. Maybe they could even include video recording software with the standalone that could come with a few filters such as making the video grayscale, sepia, night vision, or even have it look like a camcorder interface with the battery life and recording time at the top.

Quick suggestion. Again, sorry if its been done, but this would be amazing if implemented.

I thought this was going to be a post about admins making custom bases. So glad it's not. I like the suggestion. :)

The thing is, Arma's selling point is that it's basically a toy-box full of military goodies that you can mess around with as much as you want. DayZ's selling point is the struggle to salvage every single item you can find (and not dying). Making a mode where people can basically spawn themselves any item they want to practice/mess around/make films detracts massively from the experience IMO.

The devs have talked about giving peeps options to make their lives easier when it comes to recording vids but I hope this isn't the option they go for. When DayZ first became popular it was because of all these crazy vids of people having these experiences you couldn't find in any other game, it was all genuine too, not the scripted stuff that's so popular now days.

Just my 2 cents.

i agree with fraggles on this one.. if the tools are there. someone will find a way to misuse them.

the video camera is a good idea but not the single player spawn what you want thing so you can easily video what you are doing
