-xViperx- 0 Posted May 26, 2013 Hey guys, I've been getting fed up from deaths from survivors and even heroes such as myself when I don't respond to their 'Are you friendly?' messages. The reason for this is because I can't see/hear anyone's direct communication. This is not server related, I know this, I can see my own and others can see mine. The only hint at solving (or in this case knowing its origin since I can't backdate I don't think) is that my friend, on his old computer, had a Windows 7 system and he could see/hear direct communication fine. I have a Windows 8 system and have never been able to see direct communications. When my friend got the same computer as me he could no longer see direct communication. Mayuyu 411 Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) Hmm this is bizarre!There must be a setting enabled/disabled somewhere, I can't think of anything else.Go through all the options in ARMA 2 and ARMA 2:OA, as well as validating your integrity of game cache files (if you own Arma 2 on steam).Hmm, if that doesn't solve it, it may (I doubt it but maybe) have something to do with the installed languages on your computer. You might be missing something, or an update or driver perhaps.I hope you can fix this issue!Edit: Also, have you tried meeting up with your friend and testing out direct comms? I'm going to try the other things you suggested.- Thanks!EDIT: Since I do own ArmA 2 on Steam, I have done the "verify integrity of game cache" option and received an interesting message, "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." This has happened before when fixing other games, but nothing has ever been fixed. Is there something else I need to do the reacquire this file?
