U.B.C.S. Ravin 326 Posted June 19, 2012 I have read in several places updating isn't an issue with you update Day-Z, you supposedly can play with previous version servers. However, when I update it tells me everytime you are "Using the wrong version of the Day-Z code. 1.7.1.x. You are using 1.7.1.Y."Did I read wrong? Or was it people saying the Beta for Arma2 was backwards compatible with other servers that are not updated to Beta?Thank you for the replies. alexanderswift 0 Posted June 20, 2012 Yep, I don't think the Arma 2 version is backwards compatible either but I could be wrong.
U.B.C.S. Ravin 326 Posted June 20, 2012 Well, I am more concerned about if the Day-Z itself when you update is backwards compatible. IE if you can play .5 on .4 servers, so on. This seems to not be the case.

U.B.C.S. Ravin 326 Posted June 20, 2012 You said 'The Beta is not Day-z' not 'The Beta is, but not day-z'.Now I understand better. Thank you. :P

Rakkasan 23 Posted June 20, 2012 The beta patches for Arma 2 are backwards compatible. The rolling hotfixes and updates for Dayz are not.
U.B.C.S. Ravin 326 Posted June 20, 2012 Thank you LVG. I understand. I was just confused. Doing forum searches didn't yield much help. Which is why I asked. :P<3 LVG
