What would you have done?

So last night myself and two buddies gear up and head out to do some looting. We have a Humvee all fixed up and ready to roll (packs empty pretty much since Humvee holds so little.) We get a ways from base and see a white car approaching on the road so I move to one side of the road so we can pass without crashing and breaking our vehicles. He pulls to his side and all looks good.

At the last moment he swerves and hits me right in the front left, I notice there are two of them at this time both in ghillies. It puts me off the road into a tree and they skid to a stop about 50m away. I immediately call for my team to open fire as I charge into the woods to flank. The passenger side is facing us and he is unable to do more than get out of the car before my team drops him.

The driver has gotten out and gone prone but didn't see me charge his flank. My team is still unloading into the car and I put a few rounds into the prone ghillie monster. From impact to last death took about 20-30 seconds and was basically reflex with little thinking.

Between helping people and killing players who try to kill me my skins has never been hero or bandit so I consider myself a true survivor. Is a car swerving into you something you would always consider to be an act of hostility or would you say something before opening fire? To me their actions seemed extremely hostile so we killed them before they could attempt the same. Would you have done the same?

But yeah, if anyone was to swerve towards me, I'd generally consider them aggressive; but hitting me?

Definitely an aggressive action and would be grounds for retaliation.

Pretty much yeah. If it was an accident, they must understand that your reaction was normal because their actions seem hostile.

Even though I play hero, ghillie suits are questionable, as most turn out to be bandits or at least hostile. The whole car thing was definitely an act of aggression, even if they were so damn stupid they thought they could stop a Humvee with what sounds like a GAZ or another civilian car.

Yeah they basically bounced off the side but it was enough that it put me into the tree so just driving away wasn't an option.

Your reaction, OP was a good one. I also play hero mostly, but find myself increasingly prepared to react with overwhelming force to the slightest provocation. Sometimes, these days I crave conflict in game. Obviously, the wookies in the white car were out for blood and treasure ... your blood and treasure. Too bad you could not have just wounded them and then forced them to watch as you destroyed their ride and gear. Too many joy killers in game these days. Perhaps I experience too much joy over killing the joy killers, but I digress. Good show, OP.

If I heard the engine, I probably would have taken cover and shot the driver in the face before they even know it. When a car full of survivors pulls up, you know you're getting into a fight.

i wouldn't have gone near them would have jumped off road and driven off. But your reaction was the right one
