everything i've seen so far in game need to be made by combining two items at a time, so to that end i think this 5 step process is plausible for a sound alarm

Nice, but I would prefer also something like a (number)lock or safe on it, so that you can store stuff in it, without some random guy looting all your stuff. I would also be happy if the tent would still be there, if you return to the same server, even if you died.

Note in order to make this truly awesome..Your character should be able to actually walk inside a house/building, and break the wooden chairs that lay around inside? and/or wooden tables? Would be cool like... *smash* !!..cheers chair! Now I can walk again after clipping through a balcony and crawling for 2-3 hours trying to find a F-ing stick in a house :P

Craft a shanty.

 

Input; 200 wood planks, 30 logs, 40 nails, 20 animal sinue( i know this deosnt exist), (could be built in stages).
Output: Shanty, upgradable storage levels.Enterable with lockable door.
Tools: hatchet, crowbar, etool. sledge

ActionType = DIY Hunting Shed

Output (stack of 5 Jerky  (based on animal type i.e. Chicken Jerky\Beef Jerky)

Enchantments = adds 200 blood and small amount of hunger (less than cooked food but more than canned?)
ActionType = interact with drying rack or recipe with salt

Making jerky in stacks similar to road flares or magazines to reduce the space food uses for storage.

Trade off of ability to carry more food but only restores small amount of hunger and blood
