Mathos (DayZ)

Increasing FPS, anyone?

Recommended Posts

So normally, on low-pop servers, I'll get 25-40 FPS outside of Cities, 15-30 inside. On High-Pop servers, I normally get 15-30 outside of cities, and 2-10 inside. I'd like to play DayZ properly, but I can't do that frolicking around on desolate servers. Plus, I don't have the money to be upgrading my system right now, I have been meaning to though.

My specs are:

Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670 (2GB VRAM)

Processor: Intel 2 Quad Q9400 (2.66 GHz)

Memory: 8GB DDR2 (Max clock is 800MHz)

PSU: 430w (I think, not sure how to check and I forgot after I built it)

HDD: 500GB Hitatchi 7200 RPM

yeah the cpu isnt enough, i dont know ur graphics u play with but i guess u got them on as low as possible so its playable. if you can chill ur cpu very good, u might try to use razer game booster, but it might just burn it, so, as i said.

Ah, okay. Well there is probably some tweaking that you can do to improve your performance a little.

First off disable antialiasing, ATOC, PPAA, shadows and post-process effects, then set everything else to 'normal'.

If you set things to 'low' then the game gives them to your CPU to to handle and that's definitely the weak point in your system.

Are you kidding? I've got a Toshiba Satellite with a 2.1Ghz processor and I've got no trouble playing.

Forgot to mention - you should also set your video memory to 'default' to make sure it uses all of your available video memory.

Glad the rest helped though!
