Server Desync From Hive

Recommended Posts

As the thread title indicates my server is currently desync'ing from the public Hive. It took roughly six restarts for our server to sync with what MOST other servers were currently on. The affected servers were 520, 1992 and 3533, which were all sync'd to a time earlier today. Upon restarting six times I eventually got onto the hive in which my server was running on earlier and is also shared by most servers.

Some updates.

HIVE has been upgraded with some brand spanking new hardware.

Including better CPU, much more RAM, SSDs.

It has also been re-located to a new DC which is better in terms of connectivity to most of the world and the US.

Restarting your public hive servers should move you over to the new HIVE.

Note: you will notice a slight rollback (a couple of hours).

Old HIVE server will be shutdown on November 20, they will not be continously synced.

New HIVE will continue to run indefinately until any other decisions are made.

Why public hive?

We still collect statistics from public hive. We can see how many users are playing DayZ on regular basis.

Well, with the advance of anti-cheat tools there's a bunch of servers out there on public hive that can be as cheat free as a private hive. Public hive has some advantages such as saving your character across several servers, a standard dayz without too much bling bling.

If people have some ideas on how to improve hive, feel free to help out by letting me know :)

That's the thing... the server IS restarting and attaching to old hive and new hive intermittently. It actually took my server six restarts before it stopped rerolling 12 hours despite the fact that it was "synced". Also, despite that issue, after restarting multiple times I finally managed to attach to the hive most other servers are attached too. Hence, my post.

Pretty much when "old hive" is still running am I going to be forced to restart my server multiple times in order to play normally or is this going to be far more seamless in the future?

We are STILL dealing with this issue of hive switching as of today at 3:50. Upon server restart players are now rolling back to 3 days ago...

I have since remedied our issue by switching my Mission .pbo and Server PBO's (located in MPMissions and @hive). After swapping them with another servers things are running guardedly well. Also noticed that I had to change signature checks to off in order to fix another server kick issue that has since arisen from this swap. Good luck to other administrators... this has been VERY frustrating.

Everything has been top notch except for a full hive roll back on all servers this morning.
