Anyone ever get robbed trading?

You meet up with someone to trade and they shoot you and take your gear. Has this every happened to anyone? If yes then leave a story.

Actually I did a counter rob.

I went in with every single intention of trading fairly, but just as insurance I had a friend cover the meeting with a DMR

Met with the guy as agreed and he said (over direct chat) To leave all my stuff on the ground or his sniper would shoot me, at this point his sniper put a bullet inbetween us... unfortunately for them my guy saw their guy and told me via skype.

HIM- "Put all your stuff on the ground!"

ENEMY SNIPER- *Gunshot*

ME- "I Don't think I will"

SERVER- *sniper was killed*

ME- "Why don't you put YOUR shit on the ground"

He disconnected but we went and looted his fairly well geared sniper corpse quite happily ;)

Not to me, but that's probably down to the fact I don't trade and get extremely paranoid Olof anyone comes near, but I have seen a deal going down one which very quickly turned to blind panic and confusion once a smoke grenade was thrown in the mix!

I once had a trading post of sorts up and running but ended up closing it quickly. 3/5 times the guy would just shoot you and take the weapon, so I then moved on to tent trading, which unfortunately ended up similarly. I would always tell them to bring a backpack and they never would so I used to end up shooting them fairly often and just leaving the gear where they died.

So do yourself a favor and don't try trading. It's not a worthwhile hobby.

Trading is too risky for me. I think that one of two things would happen to me

a) Guy will freak the hell out over my bandit skin and shoot the fuck out of me although I have the intent on trading fairly

b ) Guy brings a fucking army and i get horribly murdered and they take my stuff.

Get a clothing that hides your bandit skin or let a friend make the trade who has a survivor/hero skin.

b ) Guy brings a fucking army and i get horribly murdered and they take my stuff.

Put your stuff in a safe place and go there only with the item you want to trade, reduces your loss. Also you can group up some friends (if you have none who play DayZ join a squad, playing in a team is way more fun!) and have them observe the area.

Usually to avoid getting killed by someone is to make sure the trade is on an empty or near empty server with nameplates, that way they cant hid an "army" under the server population. Our you a can bring a friend or two to make sure the trade goes smoothly.

Hah, I remember when I used to trade. I would drive my URAL that is filled to the brim with everyone one could possibly want, and just let people take what they want. I was never killed, let alone shot.

i made a couple of trades with DaveAcoizer, went smooth as hell, got some good loot out of it, and no-one got hurt :) so yeah, the trusted trader list does work.

Nearly happened to me actually. As soon as I gave him my sa-58 (which I was trading) He tried shooting me, but I had a sniper on overwatch and I told him to shoot :)
