ok i have arma 2 on another steam acount on my pc that i no longer use do i need to purchase arma 2 again on the other steam acount or can i just go head and buy oa on the other acount?

You'll need them both on the same account because you have to access both games at the same time.

Why don't you just buy Operation Arrowhead on the original account? Failing that you could use ARMA 2: Free and Operation Arrowhead on the new account but you'd have the low res textures from ARMA 2: Free while playing DayZ.

Are you sure? I think the game would be registered to the old account so Steam wouldn't let him run it while using the new account.

It's a possibility given that he'd only be using assets from ARMA 2 and not actually running the game though. Still, not sure if I'd like to chance it and waste the money though, lol.

adn the reason i dont want to buy it on the original is becus i let my smaller cousin use it for his games and i dont want to be knockin him off it as i left £20 on it for him

This topic leads me to believe that smasht is correct and you can actually run Combined Ops with ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead on seperate accounts...

You don't actually need to do all that, that's if you want 2 DayZ characters on the same PC. I just linked to that because it's evidence of someone running ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead on seperate accounts. :)

You just need to have ArmA installed on your PC.

Then you install OA from the steam account you are going to use as that's what DayZ uses for your account information/cdkey/authentication etc.
