I need some real help..

Okay.. the last thread i made here dissapeared.. i need some real help...

I'm new with this whole DayZ thing and i'm pretty upset right now because i just spent $25 on a game that it isn't letting me play.

So i was getting this error "Bad serial number given in setup", and i youtubed/searched around for a fix to the problem, and they all said the same thing, so i did what they told me they said delete arma oa out of the files or some crap, and I did that and they said it should work now and it doesn't, now it just says "Could not find path to Arma2 Operation arrowhead (arma20oa.exe). Are you sure you ran the game manually at least once" Do so, and verify your dayzcommander settings and try again."

I'm so confused and upset right now because i feel like i just wasted 25 dollars, i have no idea what to do i'm new with this whole dayz/steam thing...

please help...

Also; on the dayz commander thing when i double click a server it lets me play something but it isnt the zombie stimulator thing, its some type of team crap, can you please inform me how i can do the zombie stimulator?

DayZ is an ArmA mod, you need to buy/install ArmA 2 and the Operation Arrowhead expansion first before you can install the DayZ mod.

Where did you buy ArmA and OA from? Assuming it's through steam:

1. Run both ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead once to complete installation.

2. Download DayZCommander from http://www.dayzcommander.com

3. Run DayZCommander and click the "install/update" button from the top menu.

4. Click "Install" next to ArmA. Wait for the download and install to complete.

5. Click "Install" next to DayZ. Wait for the download and install to complete.

6. Press "Done" to close the versions panel.

7. Filter "DayZ only" from the dropdown box on the left and join a server.

If you are using a retail version then you will need to update to the latest version (1.62) from below after installing ArmA and OA, based on what version you are currently on. (Can be seen on the main menu screen when you run the OA) http://www.arma2.com...ly/game-updates

3. Re-run Steam as Administrator.

4. Reinstall both ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead, and then play each game once. No picture, I'm not sitting through a reinstall.

5. Install DayZCommander. Go to DayZComander, then go to Install/update.

6. Update everything, in the following order:

• DayZCommander (If there's an update, restart)
  
• ArmA II (Beta patch)
  
• DayZ
  
• (Optional) Any DayZ addons you wish to play.

Awesome! Make sure you try out ArmA II's story mode if you need to get a feel for the controls :]
