OrLoK 16187 Posted May 4, 2013 Hello thereThe game is very intensive, what are your settings?RgdsLoK
John69 64 Posted May 4, 2013 True, post settings. Also if you can, overclock that Phenom as far as you can, this game is a real cpu HOG. Moar ghz the better.Im guessing with a little tweaking and some overclocking, you should be able to get 25-30fps in city and 30-45 in the forest.Remember in setting tab, memory always on default, then try the other settings high/medium.Some high settings make use of the gfx, if you set lower value youre cpu will suffer, its the game engine, Arma 2 is funny that way. Heathcz 84 Posted May 4, 2013 the setup doesnt seem to be that bad, try some optimalizations on you tube
taco241 393 Posted May 4, 2013 I run a radeon HD 6850 paired with an i5 2500K and 4GB of RAM.So worse Vid card, but better CPU.I get 60 FPS in the woods/fields (always) and pretty much 42+ FPS in cities. At rare times that can dip into the high 30s.I'd say your CPU needs overclocking or upgrading.
=DiG= Zgraphz 84 Posted May 6, 2013 arma is harddrive dependent so i sugguest u get a SSD to run your games off of, its faster than HDD and ramdisk, though you can use ramdisk with dayz, there are many videos guides on the topic just look up dayz with ramdisk in youtube and follow their intrustions, other then that, SSD is the best way to go
gouki 1 Posted May 7, 2013 Could you stop going into threads suggesting people they should get SSD's when they dont suffer from hiccups or hangups but from generally low fps ?It's no news. I got it too, Got a SSD. Doesn't do squat. Its the fact that you got a AMD Cpu. if you had an intel equivalent you would have 15-20 fps more. at the same amount of cores and ghz. In most other games that would make no difference. But arma 2 (and every other bohemia game in fact) is horribly unoptimized, and if you want it to run at least somewhat good, you need a decent intel cpu. if you want very good fps you need a very good intel cpu, like an i7.but again, dont blame AMD, in other games you can match intel equivalents. its the developers fault. they probably designed it on intel cpus and didnt give a damn about amd cpu's. =DiG= Zgraphz 84 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) actually i must have gotten it confused with this processor, because i have an i7 sandy bridge quad core.Btw telling people that arma is just poorly optimized, doesn't help anyone,at all. at least me making suggestions that actually help people or at least improve, which it does. is alot better then listening to you talk about how poorly the game was developed, where does that get anyone? and it makes a difference in crysis, planet side, arma 3, im sure standalone will make a difference. When files are on a drive that's faster, it can read and write the faster, thing'ss move alot faster, does that make sense?
