Bagonad 0 Posted May 12, 2012 It's a large problem right now, it usually takes me 5-6 servers before i find one with more than 150 zombies, it leaves the majority of the servers useless outside of pvp.
Mezzanine 1 Posted May 12, 2012 Still no official word :(.
Bower 4 Posted May 12, 2012 Shame this still isn't resolved. I haven't played it since it became a problem as it totally kills the mood.
oilman 72 Posted May 12, 2012 Will probably be resolved after the weekend. Rocket has said he's not patching over weekends, after all, the man does have a life outside of DayZ (I assume!).
Derbysieger (DayZ) 0 Posted May 12, 2012 What I am wondering is why the Zombie count is so low even after a restart. I find plenty of loot but zombies seem like a dying species.Example: When I approached Stary Sobor in earlier versions I was able to see a ton of zombies around in the open and had to very carefully make my way through. Now when I go to Stary Sobor, even if the server has been restarted ~15mins ago there are no zombies in the open. All the zombies are either in houses or at the spawnpoints of loot under small roofs or in lootable entrances. I can run through towns and villages in bright daylight without having a horde of zombies chasing me.The first time I entered Stary in DayZ my kill count rocketed from ~40kills to something like 150kills in a few minutes. After that I could walk around for a few minutes until they spawned again. Now when I enter Stary I have only 20-30kills more after I searched all the houses. Also I haven't encountered a single Zombie at deer stands since the update. zorg_dk 30 Posted May 12, 2012 Yup, zombie count is low (lower than 300) on all the servers I've been on (Euro servers). Often there's no loot either.

aopfin87 7 Posted May 12, 2012 I don't think it's the mods fault but people running too many servers on same box.I suspect some people offering DayZ servers for rent are actually using cheap boxes like these and putting 4 virtual servers on one and offering those for rent at great profit:http://www.hetzner.de/hosting/produkte_rootserver/ex4
Mezzanine 1 Posted May 13, 2012 I really wonder if that's something to do with the problem... hmm. But if it was, why would ALL servers have the same thing going on? Not everyone would be running those kinds of servers right?
Hunter5 2 Posted May 13, 2012 I encountered this with a 7 man crew the other night. We just chalked it up to BEATING BACK THE INFECTION! But I know it's just a bug/glitch in the system(s). Does it deter me? Not 1 bit. There are still Z's around just not enough. I do like when there are more' date=' but I'll take what I can get. I get a bit annoyed with the entitlement that I've been seeing around the forums. I'm just happy I can play. Though I would like more Zed I'm confident things will be ironed out with enough time. Also, ALPHA.[/quote']This guy.

Hesher (DayZ) 2 Posted May 13, 2012 went on over 15 servers, no loot spawning no zombies, now running in empty chernogorsk. gonna quit for now and wait until they fix this.
Swineflew 480 Posted May 13, 2012 It's an alpha, you have to expect things like this.
gator (DayZ) 22 Posted May 13, 2012 went on over 15 servers' date=' no loot spawning no zombies, now running in empty chernogorsk. gonna quit and wait until they fix this. Such a major problem, ruins the mod completely.[/quote']I ran fro 3 hours through towns over the weekend when loot wasn't spawning and eventually died of starvation. Wasn't exactly the funnest time, but at least I got to spend some time this weekend in the virtual outdoors.
fox808 40 Posted May 13, 2012 I heard Rocket confirm that this is a bug and it should be (hopefully) fixed in the next patch.

Would be awesome.[hr']went on over 15 servers' date=' no loot spawning no zombies, now running in empty chernogorsk. gonna quit and wait until they fix this. On the bright side, if all these new players playing now are really enjoying the game in its current state, imagine what it's going to be like when this bug gets fixed! ZogVarnoka 26 Posted May 13, 2012 As a new player myself, I'm looking forward to it being fixed. I got hooked a couple weeks ago watching a stream and some youtube vids with the crazy amount of zombies and pvp situations. Looking forward to the mod getting back to that level of intensiveness. roskelld 0 Posted May 13, 2012 I was on US1 Hardcore yesterday, over a good few hours of play I saw the reported zombie count drop from 300+ down to 60. However when entering one of the inland northern cities I got myself into a scrap with 26 zombies, most in a single attack plus a few more in the minute before and after. I somehow survived it all, but the important thing was that the zombie count didn't noticeably change. The server was full at the time lots of people reporting being round to coast. I refuse to believe that nearly 50% of the spawned zombie count was around me alone.
