"DayZTrade" Website Idea

Recommended Posts

This idea is for a future website for dayz standalone

As alot of you veteran dayz players remember a group called FreeSide Trade co. There mission was to provide safe and secure trading arrangements.

More information about FreesideTrading Co. and its fall

It's been a while.

Freeside Trading Co. was alive pretty much the entire summer and then died, not because the idea we had was unsound, but because of hackers, real life, and the end of active development on the mod. I'm not going to complain about any of that. I just wanted to put it out there that once standalone rolls around, I'll be looking to put Freeside (or something similar) back together.

For those of you unfamiliar with what we did, we were a group of guys that did trading. Every weekend for a good few months, we ran an open trading event where we'd fortify a location and let people in to trade. You can read an article written about us here and find youtube videos if you're intent on it.

It'd be cool if anyone interested wants to shoot me an email at [email protected]. If there's interest, we can shoot for a meeting on Friday.

Cheers,

Publik

Players will log into the website and locate a trade by posting it as a listing. Once someone accepts the trade it will then be moved to a que. The ques will be monitored by mercenaries "Guns for Hire." The traders will then pick the group of mercenaries to use and the trade will then be conducted.

The Mercenaries who assist with the trade will then be given credits/review from the traders. At the end of the month, the player with the most Unique Trades (meening they are with diffrent people not with the same person over and over) and the mercaniery group with the highest "Monthly" Rating, will be given prizes depending on the month.

For DayZTrade there will be several goals.

  • Make trading as safe as possible
  • Reward players for being active
  • Bringing a community of people together and starting friendships.

Both Traders and mercenariesgroups will get prizes!

The prizes for this will be based on how standalone turns out. We would like to do a monthly server giveaway for the top mercenaries group but we would also like to do cash prizes along with gaming perferials ie : (Mice, keyboard, and headsets.)

Possible Prizes

  • Cash
  • Server
  • Mice
  • Keyboard
  • Headset
  • Steam Games
  • Steam Giftcards

The incentives to use DayZTrade would be the following

  • Safe Trades
  • Fast Mercenarie trade teams
  • Prizes each month
  • Friendly community
  • Excelent customer support

Additional Idea -

Another idea would be that these mercenaries teams can hold onto and keep your items. These will be stored in there base and guarded by there members. Allowing you to play without worrying about your base being hijacked.

Anything that has to do with safein DayZ is a no no for me, as this is part of the excitement in the world, nothing can be safe.

However trading is a good idea, but there should always be a risk in doing so.

On the server I play on there is a Merc buddy that has a whole trading system where you can buy or sell your good for some kind of cash which is managed on his thread on the forums. And whenever somwone wants to make a buy or sell something, they will be a risk for my buddy for him to get ambushed or someone on the outside of the trade to get involved and try to ambush both. This makes it very exciting and also practical.

I already offer this service in my "Trade protection team"

It is very popular. I see no need for a website

I don't see why not. We already have an official trading section in the forums, so we might as well make a website.

Brilliant post. If only all suggestion were like this.

In no way would DayZTrade be 100% safe. There will always be a risk of bandits attacking during a transaction, and that's why you hire mercenaries to cover your trade. Completing your trade allows the mercenaries to gain points, and it allows you to gain points.

Hola Darryl (Love you in Walking Dead :P ) The idea behind it would be to encourage groups like your own to take on more trades and protect more people. This would not be to somehow "push" you guys away. This is to help promote teams like yours

I started one similar for warz and it became very popular. Since the officle forums has no ability to keep track of trades, reputation and other misc features that a community site normally does not track.
