Worth it to recruit for a group?

While I have fun being a loner, it's also extremely advantageous to be in a group of players with similar aims/interests. Obviously, walking up to players and asking if they want to come along and totally not shoot me in the back of the head is not the best way to find a group, and I don't have a group of (skilled and consistently playing) friends to play with me. So obviously I'm drawn to the Recruitment forum... but looking at them, I am afraid I'll get no response, or get a couple of noncommittals who I'll play with for a little while and then never play with again.

So I guess, to assuage my fears, have the more experienced players among the DayZ forumgoers had any good success with the recruitment forum? Any tips for my recruitment thread, if I make one?

Well I had good luck with TMW, granted they are a much larger and more established group than your run of the mill "looking for a buddy" thread, but you won't know until you try.

Recruiting on the forums I never really got many people that I stuck with, most of them were just not what I was looking for but responded anyway.

I happened to find someone in the teamspeak of the server I was playing on... after we got a helicopter then had about an hour stand off with a couple bandints... which we won btw haha! then proceeded to crash in electro after being shot at... hmph... but anyway we've been playing almost nightly since then..

What kind of play are you looking for and server type and time? if interested you may be able to come play with us as we would like a couple more people.. he has a couple of other friends but they arnt on much.

Come to the server the walking zed and join us we could use more people in our group.
