So what your saying is no one offically said "yes" to it yet, but they have removed the explicit "no" rule ? Can we get a mod or dev maybe to let us know I would like to enable this but covet the public hive and dont want to risk blacklisting my server by doing so if its not allowed.

We've had it enabled since our server started... never heard any mod/dev moan about it...

As a server admin you can decide yourself if yoz want it enabled or not. This choice can be made at the mission generator which you will get point to at every new patch.

You can also uncpbo your server's mission file, and in the description.ext file edit the line pertaining to which chat modes should be on. Mine are as follows (sidechat is enabled):

disableChannels[]={0,2,6};

Saving the description.ext and repacking the pbo file and reupping to your server would then enable sidechat.
