hippo123 0 Posted April 25, 2013 Hey. I have 2 PC's, one for gaming and one for low end / medium gaming.Because I switch locations a lot, I mainly have my medium gaming rig for usage now.And today a great deal has been offered to me, I can practically get one of the following cards for free:MSI GT 210 Silent 1GB(geforce 210)orSapphire HD5450 Silent 512mb.Statistics say the 512mb one is better, but what do you think?Yes they are both crap, but for free.. I'll do it.Looking to play arma 2 / dayz on about medium without lag.
Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted April 25, 2013 In your case I'd just pick the lesser bad and go with MSI GT 210.The ARMA 2 engine is more taxing on your CPU(processor), rather than your graphics card, though. So even with top-of-the-line graphics cards, you'll get lag if your processor can't keep up.
Hockeyguy 107 Posted April 25, 2013 Its goos to have a goos graphics card but is is more important to have a good processor because arma 2 uses the CPU more
hippo123 0 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) I'm back.So I received the GT 210 and I have some strange issues. Most of the time I have around 30-35 fps which is really good for my pleasure, but it often drops to literally 2-3 fps for around 5 seconds. It feels like a massive freeze. So 30fps stable most of the times, and sometimes it messes up at 2-3 fps. What is the cause of this?Is it my CPU? It's an Intel Pentium 4 3.5ghz (overclocked).Would it help to upgrade my ram or do I have to get a completely new CPU? Mos1ey 6301 Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) That could be various things. It could be that your graphics card is running out of memory or it could be that your hard-drive is slow. The Pentium 4 is also very old now and won't be helping things either though, lol.
