Drop pistol and ammo when moving torch?

Recommended Posts

Ok so this has happened three times now, searched and couldnt find my exact problem.

First time i didnt realise what had happened...

2nd time I had a pistol and ammo in my primary inventory, went to swap the pistol for the torch in my backpack and the pistol and ammo disappeared completely?!

3rd time (after finally finding a pistol), i decided to move the gun into my backpack first... and it all just disappeared in front of me, nothing ever ending up in the back pack.

Why the ammo (and i think even the bandages) disappear when changing the weapon slot is beyond me.

Anyone else having this problem or no whats causing it, as i found another gun but am too scared to change to it :(

The sidearm itself will take up 5 backpack slots, which is the majority of the starter patrol pack. If you don't have 5 open spaces the sidearm will simply be deleted, no popup saying it doesn't fit or dumping things out of your backpack, it's just gone. Unfortunately one of the glitchy mechanics of the inventory, but you learn to deal with it. It also attempts to move all magazines of the sidearm into your pack, and if you don't have enough spaces for those, it will delete any that don't fit. This means with an empty starter pack all you'd be able to carry around 3 mags at a time if you plan on using the flashlight.

Alternatively, if you don't have space or don't have time to fuss with it, you can simply drop your weapon on the ground or in a zombie or other storage space. I wouldn't drop it while on a slope though, they have a tendency of ending up underground. Best to fish out an existing loot pile. Also really the only way of pulling out a hatchet when you end up with 2 rifles.

If that sounds like too much work, try to play on daytime servers, learn to play at night without unnatural light, or find a G17, M4A3 CCO, or a Remington 870.
