chances of survival (SA)

Recommended Posts

fact people can survive head shots chances of that is about 5-10%. it would add realism to the game if it had these chances. i use 9 mm on pointblank range as reference here of course military uses high caliper ammo and chance of surviving that is like 3-5% on point blank range.

head depending where it hits survival chance 10% but you will be knocked unconscious you die eventually if not treated.

lungs survival chance 0-3%

heart survival chance 0%

arms, legs,hands and foot 95%

abdomen 40-60%

brain depending where like if it hits 0-50% if it hits brain mater you should be "alright" but if it's goes deep into nervous system you are dead end of story.

tell me what should be improved i will put it in to my first post in this thread

It would be realistic, but would it really be fun? I know arcade-ish are looked down upon, but almost 1 shot for every weapon would get old.

That's pretty complicated. And as much as I approve of realism I really don't want shots to be this specific. Yeah if it's to the leg your legs should become disabled but I don't want.

"well you got hit in x place so you have Y chance of survival" Not everyone is doctors in this world.

Sorry if this seems like a rant but I do no approve

I'd be happy with splints and shakey arms/slow movement speed.

Shot in the Arm = Untreated: Shakey aim/Can't switch Weps quickly

Treated: Minimal reduction to aim shakeyness, regens quicker.

Broken Arm = Untreated: Can't use two-handed guns until treated, both broken means can't hold anything in hands.

Treated:Can use 1 handed gun if both broken, shakey aim on 2 handed until fully healed.

Shot in leg = Untreated:Can walk/limp but might pass out from pain

Treated: Slowed movement speed for a while, but will eventually regen.

Broken Leg = Untreated: Reduced to crawl/very slow hobble.

Treated: With splint + good food + morphine heals quickly, 10-20 mins maybe. Nobody really wants to wait 30 minutes to walk again, maybe a very slow walk

Possible ability to have a friend help you walk? Crutches?

I kind of like the idea. Rocket has already stated that the damage system is being completely re done in SA. When you get hit in SA it is going to hurt. No matter what gun it is. I think there should be a small chance to survive getting shot in the head. I was watching a WWII documentary on youtube yesterday and some guy in the battle of the bulge got shot in the face five times and lived. So there is the possibility of surviving a headshot IRL.

You would probably bleed out quickly if a bullet somehow managed to non-fatally lodge itself in your cranium. There wouldn't be any proper medics/doctors to care for you wound correctly, either.
