Can I host a server on my home network?

Recommended Posts

Before you say no, I read this:

http://support.dayzm...layarticle&id=2

All I want to do is host a small server for me and a friend to play on. Nobody else just me and a friend, 2 people.

I was wondering if this is possible to host a server for JUST 2 people. I know how port forwarding works and have a computer that I can host the server on when we want to play, obviously it wouldn't be 24/7 for 2 people.

Is this possible and how would I go about doing it if so?

I have no intent to release my IP to the public because of DoSing. If I wanted a public server I would rent one, but I just want a small 2 slot private server.
