Just started playing on a new public server which usually has a low population. I've seen the MI-17, AH6X and Huey around the map. Have yet to see the MH6J.

I've seen several topics about the spawn locations of the MH6J (Pulkovo, Novy Lug, Polana), but nothing concrete. Anyone know where they should spawn? And is it dependant on the number of helis already on the server (for instance could there only be one Little Bird variant per server)?

Its totally random, and has no static spawn point as far as im aware, aswel, as far as im aware, the amount of helicopters on the server does not effect were it spawns.

Check the hangars of the NE Airfield. I found one there... I blew it up with a satchel when a few guys went to repair it (hence my member title.)

Okay so it's not a static spawn, but random. Is there a MH6J on every server (like I said, public hive)? Also, similar questions for the AN-2 Biplane (spawn location, guaranteed on server etc.).

It completely depends on the Server. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think there is a spawn point for it on Public Hives. Many private hives will not even have the heli. I have found the occasional at a castle, I think it was Black Castle just like Wooly-Black-Jack had previously stated. Good luck finding one.

Tip: Ask admin or frequent players if there is one on server.

I've found a Mi-17 before, but never that. I don't think I've ever flown a chopper, really. I've ridden in one, but I don't want to lose everything I have because I went too low on the treeline.

I have found it consistently at the Black Mountain ruins, around grid 033 - 101. It usually spawns almost right up against the inside of the castle parapet wall.

It regularly spawns on my server at black castle, but you won't find it there atm as I have it :P

the plane appears every 2 or 3 restarts but it never lasts long lol (ends up a pile of rubble with a body at side of it)

Sure it isn't off a few hundred meters? Those things can fling you quite the distance.

I don't fly it but I have been and collected friends gear from the wreck in a car for them and 2 bodies where quite close, mind you iirc they said they had landed what seemed perfectly but then the plane bounced.

Same. Except I just left it there for someone else to have since I didn't feel like taking the time to repair it. My UAZ is good enough for me.
