Want to play Dayz LAN

me and my friends want to play dayz offline through LAN ive looked for tutorials but they all seem to be for people who want to play LAN but still over the internet what i want to do is just play dayz in the same room connected together using LAN cables, if we just plugged in and played would that work or is there something special i need to do like download an app or program to make it work?

You need a DayZ server on your LAN so it will take a little work. There are plenty of guides out there for setting up a DayZ server but fair warning it can take a lot of fiddling and a steep learning curve.
