Hey there, here's the ideal (in my opinion) way to set up DayZ:

1. Run ArmA II. Wait until you can see the main menu, then quit.

2. Do the same for Arma II: Operation Arrowhead.

3. Download and install the latest version of DayZCommander. If you plan to play mods besides DayZ, Play WithSIX is also worth looking at.

4. Click on "Install/Update" on DayZCommander.

5. Update your ArmA II beta patch to the latest edition.

6. Install the latest version of DayZ (Or a previous version if you intend to join a server running it).

7. [OPTIONAL] Install any add-on maps you wish you play on.

There you go. Should take you about 10-15 minutes tops. Any problems or more questions, shoot me a PM.

and when i click ok and continiue to game screen:

No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgVehicles/House.scope'.

then when i try to join a server theres a giant text box of jibber about some file locations

Maybe you don't have baf lite and PMC lite enabled in the expansions tab of the oa main menu?

This is correct, but you missed a few steps for people who are using non-steam installers such as sprocket from bohemia, gamefly, etc. Ftfy:

I will keep note of your changes. Much appreciated.
