Where to Find Good Weapons

Hello,

I am pretty new, but have been playing long enough to get familliar with the game, and the map. The only problem I have is that I have no idea where to look for decent weapons. The best I have found so far is the Lee Enfield. I found an AKM in an abandoned humvee, but it seemed that someone had just ditched it. I hear that military locations are good but I do not know where they are other than the airfields.

Firehouses in Cherno/Elektro/Stary Sobor are GREAT places to find military-grade weapons. Check barns and two-story city buildings for Winchesters, revolvers, and Lee Enfields. Cheers ;)

Balota airfield is a good place but be careful as it is very rarely free of players. The nearby medical base across the main road from the airfield has deer stands which can yield some good gear.

As said Fire houses are a good source but can be a player magnet.

In Cherno the military tents close to the hospital are good as well.

you might want to check out the map at http://dayzdb.com/map which contains the spawn locations of different kind of gear - be warned though that this constitutes spoilers as it takes away a lot of exploring.

You find good loot in stary sobor, elektro, cherno and NW airfield. I recomend approaching stary and airfield with stealth and being aware of your souroundings, because alot of sniper hang in Airfield and Sobor. And if you are lucky, you might find rare military grade guns like the m4a1 holo.

Don't forget the two barracks at NW Airfield.
