What settings do you play on?

Recommended Posts

Not shure where to post this, so I'll just leave it here. I was just curious what graphical settings everyone plays on, as the quality of screenshots/videos on this forum varies greatly. I've been playing it with about 40 frames on Very High with AA on and Post Processing disabled, and some things set to high and medium instead of very high(like object detail and shadow detail). I see people on youtube who have pretty nice pc's that play this on pretty low settings with vegetation and shadows disabled so they can have some kind of tactical advantage(if there is one?). I don't believe in making my game look crappy just so I can squeeze out the extra frames. So brahs and brahs, what settings do YOU play on?

I play with everything as low as possible. Still getting about 5 fps, though. Time for a new comp, eh?

How can you put up with this?

Maxed out. Everything. Funny thing is, my PC is mid-range at best by today's standards. Weird.

Same here. I've got a sort-of-mid range desktop, with a 7850 and the fx 8350. Of course, it helps to have a monstrous processor like mine because this game is pretty CPU intensive. What are your PC specs?

I play with everything in either high or very high that way it uses the graphics card not the CPU, I have a few things disabled for a few extra fps but that's just to make recording more possible for my videos :) I've got a fx 4100 @ 4.3 ghz and a 6870 so a fairly mid range PC aswel

Oh yeah I average around 40 fps although recently I've been hitting the high 50s to my amazement :o

I honestly don't think I could play with everything on as low as possible and with a low resolution :/ I'm a real graphics whore with games

I couldn't care less about graphics as long as it runs smooth (which it frequently doesn't)... I got killed the other day entirely due to laggy frames, I had the jump on the guy but I couldn't hit him at 4 fps... I was so pissed. <_<

If you don't get more than 4 fps there's no point in playing

I probably get 15-25 on average, at least on the servers I usually play on...

I don't play it unless it's 60 fps

Standards... they are high.

everything maxed out, but with shadows disabled, my game runs really well and still looks nice

1080p, everything maxed, post-process effects disabled.

I turn shadows off sometimes too, I don't really like the way they look in ARMA 2 for some reason, and disable AA sometimes if I want a few more FPS for firefights.

I used to play with everything low / very low with no shadows, texture detail etc but then I assume my graphics card melted because all these weird shapes were popping up on the screen and it was unplayable. My new computer will be much better though.

That's artifacting.

There was a bug with barbed wire that caused it if you looked anywhere near it, sometimes it was so bad it literally filled your whole screen. Frying your graphics card would do it too though, lol.

Might I ask what brand of potato your playing on?

No seriously though what kinda PC are you playing on to manage 4fps?

Play nice, that kind of performance only occurs when things are going very poorly indeed..

This little bubba from Toshiba. Weighs under 5 lbs! (I'm trying to find nice things to say about it).

I'll help you out a little :D It's got very nice stickers on the front and also that tomahawk attachment looks very nice indeed, is that usb yes? I'd say it's handy when the mouse just isn't good enough for melee attacks

Those stickers are precious, one started peeling off and I had to superglue it back on... yup, USB, handy for those times when you want to attack a wagon train or ambush mountain men. It includes a foofurraw CD-ROM and an HDMI possibles sack.

Nobody should start complaining about FPS unless it goes below 20
