badluckburt 974 Posted April 12, 2013 What are your video-settings in Arma / DayZ? And, is it the orange trees or all of them? The orange ones are really nasty. Also, I'm not sure if that laptop is fast enough to run it smoothly (if it is, someone please correct me).

badluckburt 974 Posted April 12, 2013 'Runs fine' is very relative but I do agree that there's a chance it might run better if he fiddles some more with his settings. I did notice the OP has 8 gigabytes of RAM so he could try using the RAM-disk solution to speed up things.

BwobBwub 660 Posted April 12, 2013 smoothly? Yes, the only time my FPS drops is when I have been playing Arma for 6+ hours. After that I let it cool for an hour and tally-ho, I'm playing again.
RayPugh 146 Posted April 12, 2013 one of the best things for me is to reduce scene complexity, i found it on here linkypoo.goto your arma2 folder in my documents, edit your profile in notepad and search for 'SceneComplexity' in that file. when you change this value you reduce the items that are physicly loaded on screen, it greatly increased my fps in trees.
