DLC: suggestions

Recommended Posts

cheap dlc is fine I saw one game where spending an extra $10 gave a complete different experience and was totally worth it ha ha. each piece of the dlc was $1 or $2 which was great. im fine with dlc as long as it is completely worth it.

Indeed some DLC worth the money ( gay tony gta4 was pretty good) and some company give extra stuff like red orchestra 2 witch they give map or wargame witch give you game mode and new mission free.

Not like Call of duty for 50$ get 20 map (oups that bf3).

The problem is what DLC we could have without breaking the game or giving unfare advantage is, I guess, that only map could be added as a DLC. But still a bad idea since it just fell like we cut stuff and give them later.

DLC seems to work better in single-player games the game i was thinking of was just cause 2. Edited by nousernamehelp

DLCs for dayz should simply be high detailed official maps.

These maps should have story driven details & 'hints' which refer to the apocalypse and individual stories of 'surivors' (not players). Much like the deadspace series which portays this quite well.Something that a 3rd party mod cannot achieve. Ide gladly pay for a dlc like that. Especially when map can get overly explored.

I don't hope that there are any DLCs, but I hope that Map, Game and Ingame-Objects become 3 different things, as those are the 3 main things that people change in their mods. DLCs for me are always tied to "pay extra". something I don't like for micro-content. But I'd accept additional content to be downloaded, as long as it is optional and free.

Having the option to select severa maps to play on. Different versions, as buildings might be added or removed and the Mission-file that can either be vanilla dayZ or an extended community mod, would be enough I think.

Something Like "DayZ (Vanilla) on Chernarus (Vanilla)" might be an official server, "DayZ (Vanilla) on Namalsk (Vanilla)" would be regular dayZ on another map (namalsk) and "DayZ (Custom) on Chernarus (Custom)" would be a customized game-file with customized chernarus-map.

So if you saw a server "DayZ (Plus) on Chernarus (Plus)" you'd know that it is a modified game-version ("plus") with a map, customized for it, while "DayZ (Plus) on Chernarus (Vanilla)" would be a modified game on the regular map, without changes.

tl:dr: I'd like a clearer definition of what is in a mod, rather than additional DLCs. It's often impossible to say what a server offers, unless you read the often non-existing description or join.
