What map is best for me?

Ive been playing on Cheranus for months now, and Im sick of my same old route to the same 4 places. Im just bored of the map. Its also been getting easier and easier. If I somehow die, I just run to my base and re equip.

So, like the title sais, what map is best for me?

To get to know me a little bit to be decide, this is how I play:

-My main love is the survival part. I want a map that forces you to your last can of beans everyday. A map with scarce food, and hopefully more hunting involved.

-I am not one for complete PVP. In the 5 or so months Ive played, Ive only had to kill 3 people in self defense, and was only killed 2 times.

-Not many people. This most likely varies server to server, but which map tends to have fewere servers. And the things Ive listed above......

Thanks for your times and opinions in advance.

P.S.- I dont have time to really research all this and watch videos, so I want opinions. I was looking at Namalsk. But I didnt read too much about it.

I started playing the 2017 mod and yeah its still the same map but resources are scarce.

Dayz 2017 or dayz redux.

They make the game harder and add other things in.

Try DayZ Origins there is so much to do its Taviana map so you have a lot to explore and you can build a house to have safe gear, http://www.dayzorigins.com/

I have only played chernareus like twice since being on origins :)

try mods that dont change the map, but mods like 2017 or redux that limit loot spawns massively. playing on 2017 earlier and went through 3 supermarkets and found one can of food, and no drink. that is hardcore shit right there. and the KoS is reduced massively because survival is so difficult. with such a lack of ammo the zombies are a real threat.

Ok. Either Namlask or 2017. I dont like how 2017 will have more PvP, but Namalsk will most likely have about the same because of so many weapons...... I guess I will try both and go from there.

Well with little food wouldnt PvP be increased? I would kill even if it used ammo that I barely had if i was starving!

IMO Namalsk is really easy to loot up on. I found military grade gear easily on there.

Try em all choose for yourself... be a big boy make your own decisions and draw your own conclusions from personal experiences instead of taking a bunch of other peoples word for it

What is the terrain like on Namalsk?

It's a snowy island with lots of trees. It has many military bases and towers. The only town is (I forgot the name) is your only real chance of finding food and drink. The ambience soundtrack is very creepy though especially when bloodsuckers creep up on you (Mind, thats a good thing why there is a lot of ammo on Namalsk).

Forgot to add, on Namalsk, you need to stay warm or your going to catch an infection.

Also DayZ 2017 is a good place if you like tin cans :P

If you need food I'm pretty sure you can gut people, like seriously.

I also would recommend you to Namalsk ... if you can survive for a few weeks on Namalsk without friends, vehicles, assists from other players, you can pretty much survive anything DayZ has left to throw at you. I cut my DayZ teeth there and still love it. It's small (around seven by seven km total) but seems much larger on foot. There's cold weather that will kill you without antibiotics, heatpacks or winter clothing. A new enemy, the bloodsucker (from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.) hunts the empty, cold spaces, and storms of radiation or energy or something occur almost hourly, forcing you to shelter in a building, get out of your vehicle or land your helicopter. You will also find weapons on Namalsk that spawn normally on no other map.

For sheer size and number of places to explore, I recommend Taviana. With many large cities, subway stations, a nuclear power plant and more, it's an amazing map for the explorer. Tavi also has a great diversity of terrain and plenty of opportunity for armed water sports and dogfights over the Baltic Sea. Which Tavi version is best? 1.5.1 has zombies that will mess you up fast and can die only by a shot to the head - sometimes two. It also has many custom weapons and vehicles, but is a bit buggy. Taviana.com has better loot spawns and is less buggy, but currently only runs on the old 1.7.4.4 code.

I saw your post and thought I would drop you a line and offer some help and invite you to join our server.

Our server runs a modified version of the 2017 mod (version 1.1) for a unique play experience. We have basic starting gear, a bandage and a box of pain killers, no weapons, tools, etc. Low server population. Custom AI squads patrolling the map hunting zombies and/or players. Full moon every night to aid in playing in the dark. Friendly and helpful admins. Just filter for "DayZHerd" in DayZCommander.
