bad_mojo (DayZ) 1204 Posted April 7, 2013 [this suggestion is for the mod]It would be nice if random loot would spawn inside the backpacks that you find. Perhaps even have a couple super rare ones with survival contents. As if you found a preppers bug out bag.Would also give more of a reason to check inside backpacks, which will slow down looting a bit.
-Se7eN- 874 Posted April 7, 2013 anything that makes looting slower and needs more care IMO is good.i like the idea.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted April 7, 2013 Depends where you find them.If you found a backpack in a house then it would make sense for it to have stuff in it, maybe clothes or basic survival gear, maybe in military areas too (nothing high end, just some random ammo or something). But if you found a backpack in a supermarket then it would probably be new therefore empty.I agree that the idea of making searching bags instead of just seeing a backpack with less storage space than the one you're carrying and dismissing it is nice.

Such examples include the Compass, MRE's, Morphine, Epi-Pen's, Smoke Grenades, Frag Grenades (at an extremely rare chance). Also I don't think they should hold weapons, more so just equipment, ammo, food, meds and junk items. Mos1ey 6301 Posted April 9, 2013 I dunno. Do you have morphine, adrenaline and frag grenades in your home? Lol.I was thinking more along the lines of clothes, compass/map, food/water, binocularls, basic first aid (bandages and so on) etc. Just basic stuff that someone might have gathered in the early days of the infection. mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted April 9, 2013 Folks who are allergic to bee stings etc. would have epi-pens, in case they go into anaphylactic (sp?) shock. That'd make it reasonable as a rare drop in homes. Morphine and grenades, not so much. It'd be a cool addition, but the way gear is handled in the mod has caused loaded backpacks stored in tents/cars to come out empty, so I don't know how the game would handle spawning with loot already in bags.If it's possible it'd probably mean adding different bags (an individual for each kind of loot contained) to the loot-tables. Which would mean it's not quite as random.

I suppose I should have mentioned as well that is the sort of stuff you might find if you were to search a backpack while inside a barracks or other military installation. But regardless a nice idea
