wisper 61 Posted April 6, 2013 Oh u think? Then what's the point of arguing about anything? In fact, what's the point of having a forum? Don't tire yourself, I'll tell you: It is to have a think tank where good, average and bad ideas are expressed, so that the project in progress can benefit most. Being a mute point cause it's allready decided,.. before release? That contributes nada ;)Sorry, but your earlier style reminded me "thou shall not..." sermons fit mostly to religious fanatics.

What I see coming, if a way is found to get it and it isn't properly handled, is what I've already expressed. Then they'll have to do something about it, and probably after a portion of their players call it quits.Servers and sustainable income:A way to make a sustainable method of income would be to, in some way, offer private servers for cash. Maybe even let private people offer their services as hosts. These hosts would of course have to be scrutinized in every possible way to prevent foul play, bad connections or admin abuse. Maybe being forced to have a system scan performed once a day and a live anti-hack protection installed, one that scans only the hosts own computer. This way the only meddling from Bohemia, or whoever will be in charge of that, would be to check that program for inconsistencies in the anti-hack and the system check once a day. To get a permit in the first place, one should have a 3-6 hour connection test for stability and speed test initially and then afterwards a short test ensuring that nothing has been altered connection wise.Opinions? wisper 61 Posted April 7, 2013 On the private hosts subject, I am not technically knowledgable enough to know how easy it would be. If it can be though, the super cool thing I would be looking for is geographic variation. Like the private host expand the original layout to include different land features. I know that many people ask for this and providing the freedom to private hosts might be the solution, instead of overworking the developer team.

I know that many people ask for this and providing the freedom to private hosts might be the solution, instead of overworking the developer team.It is easy enough for someone who knows how it is done. You make it so servers has to fill in an unique ID that can only be given by them. If the unique ID doesn't match up, the server won't launch. The server would have to be live with the official network, but the server itself would be private. The advantage of a system like this is that Bohemia can have a database of servers. That means that users can vote on server quality individually, and possibly, file complaints. The latter usually involves a lot of work on the official side and that wasn't really what was intended. The danger of a system like this is that the server files can be hacked and distributed for cracked versions of the game. The only way to counter something like this is to make the game much more enjoyable if it is played live and official. Hackers always find a way to get around security.. focusing on keeping the product fresh is better than wasting effort on extensive remodeling of the game to prevent hackers. Remember that it is humans who change the structure of security, as well as humans that try to get around it. Edited April 7, 2013 by AtotehZ
bigdaddy19759 0 Posted April 8, 2013 How about a new idea. When you are hit and bleeding. It leaves a blood trail. So if a zombie happens across the trail then they will start to follow the trail. Unless you stop the bleeding which would then stop the trail at the point that you healed the wound. Also, the idea of if you die by a zombie attack, then you rise as a zombie with all gear that player had minus what was held in hands. Or you could go the resident evil route, and if you die anyway then you rise, unless you were killed because of head trauma i.e. 50 cal. bullet threw the brain. Just thoughts! Talibambi 119 Posted April 8, 2013 Final Fantasy 11 has a 30 second timer where your character is still "logged in" before vanishing from the server. I think that would be fine for the standalone. Combat log/crash/internetProblem? Okay. Your character is gonna stick around for 30 seconds regardless. Standing there like... a sitting duck... Then after 30 seconds.. POOF. They vanish. Just thoughts! The blood trail idea seems good. Most people patch up immediately so it won't have a major impact on the game. The blood would have to dessipate after a while. How long I don't know.I wouldn't care much for the rest of it though. It wouldn't be DayZ.Final Fantasy 11 has a 30 second timer where your character is still "logged in" before vanishing from the server. I think that would be fine for the standalone. They vanish.I agree, but the timer should be longer than 30 secs. If you are pinned by a sniper it is too easy to just log out as it is now. 1 minute would be better. It should also be easier to get in combat. Shots fired within 100 meters, bullets impacting near you. These 2 things would greatly improve gameplay, then you are not allowed to leave if there's action nearby... in other words, combat.
