How can I run Arma II alone?

I'm sure this has been asked and actually I read a couple answers but none of the solutions provided were too clear so here I am.

So that's basically the question.. I want to practice my flying because I'm new and I'd like to use the mission editor or load an external mission to play, but like you already know there's no single player option with DayZ files installed.

Needless to say, I don't want to unistall DayZ. Is this possible at all? Thanks!

Disable it via the extensions menu when you run ArmA/OA or just remove @DayZ from your shortcut.

or just play the original arma 2 game the green icon

I've never tested it, but I believe if you place a helo in the 3D editor, you should be able to fly it in preview mode.
