Oklahoma Jones 2 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Two posts for two ideas... one topic. Thought I'd try to cut down on the clutter. Number One... RE: Endgame content... Some players just want to kill others until someone kills them. Some players just want to make a camp and hold out as long as possible. However, some players, like myself, would like their characters to have a chance at escape. I'll try to make it short... 1) Basically, since there are so many heli crashes, we know there are outside groups still at work. They would be broadcasting a message that gives a time/date/location of a helicopter pickup of any survivors (or fresh test subjects... good to keep it ambiguous). 2) To get this message, you'd need to head to the top of Green Mountain Radio Tower (the only such structure of its type). Once you have the location, head there at the proper time and a group of 3 NPC helicopters will land and take any survivors out of Chernarus (you get an escaped/captured screen instead of "You Are Dead"). Then you can start a new character with the knowledge that your old one is alive (probably being experimented on though :D). Could perhaps be a counter for escaped characters... 3) Survivors, imagine the tension you'd feel running across a big open field to the waiting chopper, never knowing if you're about to get sniped. Bandits, imagine the joy you'd get sniping survivors who think they're about to saved. The same goes for climbing up Green Mountain Tower... So, there it is, fairly simple to implement but with many gameplay consequences. Best of all, it's completely optional (I think this is key for endgame content)! So you can still choose to play however you want. Thoughts? Edited April 4, 2013 by Oklahoma Jones

Oklahoma Jones 2 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Number Two... Build a large penitentiary system somewhere in one of those big empty fields up North in Chernarus. A little odd that this entire country has not one jail, right? Multiple cell blocks, towers, razor wire fencing, central castle-type building. Could be an exciting destination, decent loot in the guard towers, various unique clothing, etc. Along with that, if you did have such a place in-game, it could be the place where all bandits spawn (that is, people with low enough Humanity) or, at least, have a good chance to spawn. Kills two birds with one stone: Bambis get a bit of a buffer zone and Bandits get immediate PVP (which is what they really want anyways) and a shot at getting a gun from the guard towers. If you think about, people with Humanity that low would probably be in prison anyways... This has a lot fewer permanent consequences than some sort of skill system or whatnot (bandits are people too!) while also being a bit more realistic (if the world goes to shit, a lot of nasty people are going to start very close to each other. Not all though...). Cheers! Edited April 4, 2013 by Oklahoma Jones

elf cakes 559 Posted April 4, 2013 personally i think the perfect endgame would be a fully functional trading town, where people know they are safe from bandits and zombies. though i doubt this would ever happen as it would need alot of player co-operation, that's the kind of endgame i want to see. one that is fully player-built and makes people co-operate.

catweazle (DayZ) 28 Posted April 4, 2013 I like Number 2) ...would be a nice way to travel to other Maps
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted April 4, 2013 There is no such thing as an "end" game, a well designed persitent world doesn't ever let you reach a point where it has no content to provide to you.Considering DayZ is perma death, there is very little chance that you might experience all the game has to offer over the course of a single life. Azziax 81 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) I would love number 1 as a sort of objective. One would require certain gear (radio of some sorts) which can only be found at a very very low rate. This item should be able to spawn all over the map in every town. This also should be a non lootable item because of the campers and also a token which allows you to travel with the NPC's at the destined location. The fact that it is so rare and that one needs to find it to finish the game would make sure people go out all over the map to find it, except for those who just tend to kill :)Once you've found this item the game will become so much harder.... Since you want to avoid all contact and stay alive to get the NPC location from green mountain...And then ofcourse the ride to the NPC's location and be there at the designated time......Seems fun to me Edited April 4, 2013 by Azziax
