Public Servers

Hi folks, been playing dayz a couple of days now and loving it.

I'm having problems finding a public server, like at all, every server I see is a private one. How can I tell if its public?

If you are using DayZCommander, ticking 'hide unofficial' will filter out most of them. Also set it to DayZ only. The vast majority of servers are private nowadays though.

thanks mate, I just want the choice of being able to change server and carry on from where I am. Hate playing a server, only for a it to get hacked and having to start from scratch several times in one day.

If that's your concern, then you may want to stay on private. Hackers prefer to go to public servers over private in general. Yes they do go to the private ones as well, but on average you see more on public. So long as you find a private server you like or you have a character on, you can pull it up again by favoriting it or simply going into your recent server tab.
