It's a disgrace to the intentions of Dayz. Makes me wonder why the dev's are continuing with the community builds when all everyone does is up the loadouts, loot, buildings, etc etc etc.

God help those people when standalone comes out, what will they do if they don't spawn with a weapon and vehicles aren't even on! :lol:

It's really sad what DayZ has turned into. 90% of the servers are just L33T S3RV3R 1000+ VEHICLES, 500 REPAIRED CHOPPERS, CUSTOM LOADOUT: START WITH AS50 + M9SD + GHILLIE + COYOTE + NVG'S + RANGEFINDERS + ALL TOOLS....but wait, there's more! MOAR CUSTOM BUILDINGZ INCLUDING 20 BARRACKS ON BOTH AIRFIELDS, FIRESTATIONS ON EVERY SPAWN, INCREASED LOOT CHANCE etc etc. I'm obviously exaggerating, but you get the idea. DayZ used to be all about survival, now it's just deathmatch fun servers, this is bullshit. I have yet to find a good, populated vanilla server, so I'd be very greatful is someone suggested one.

OT: They added in what they added in because it's a regional thing. PKM matches Chernarus moreso than a Scar or an M4.

In my opinion, they should outright remove the AS50 and bring in the KSVK.

Mushroom: The AS50 is not the issue.

The issues are... Crosshairs. Nametags. Side Chat. Custom Buildings. Custom Loadouts. Anything more than 50 Vehicles. If I want that, I go play Battlefield.

The community builds are used by the many Public Hive connected Servers.

Private Hive modifications are up to the owner, if he wishes to add 1000 vehicles and starting gear, so be it.

I don't see where the problem is, choose your server well, end of problem.

I recomend BMRF #2 its a whitelisted, expert server....ie no name plates/crosshairs and even no 3rd person

people are friendly...restarts every 3 hours

now i think about it, does have a single barracks added to the NEAF (and a fire station) as well as two small blocks of flats at Zeno but thats all the custom buildings I can think of

The problem I feel is these are the morons that come play 'DayZ' which isn't DayZ.

They come to play a deathmatch on a big map, this is NOT what DayZ is meant to be, unfortunately these morons have equal weighting in their votes for stuff compared to everyone else.

Trying to turn DayZ into something it's not shouldn't be encouraged. It's like giving someone noclip on Portal because they find it more fun.

It doesn't matter how they feel about it, it's not how it's meant to be played.

Those people playing private hives with custom loadouts and 200+ vehicles really ought to play wasteland, because that's all it is really if all you want is a deathmatch. I you want to have a fun DayZ survival game I suggest you try DayZ Origins, many servers out there, uses one of the best huge map, what is most like what DayZ used to be.
