Possible solution to night time?

Hello.

I am not one of those who complain about the night time of this mod. But i do think this could be a good idea.

Imagine the bigger cities, and mabye the smaller ones, with street lights?

Mabye some lights on industrial buildings, or at the entrance of appartment building?

Dont get me wrong, the idea is not to fully light up the entire city. But with some lights to guide you around would be nice.

Mabye most, if not half of the street lights where blinking? Mabye some street light models with no light at all, that you could fix with a toolbox and a light bulb?

Mabye you could light some candles or an oil lamp by using the match box and/or some oil/gasoline?

I am sorry for my poor english, as my native language is Norwegian.

I would appreciate if you could leave some constructive feedback on these ideas, what you like and what not, and not to start fingerpointing and flaming.

i dont even bother playing on night time server now! the only place you get 100% black shadows in the moon!

agreed switch to a different server!

I like the fact that the power is out. But then again, this game is darker than reality, so maybe this is the only way you could navigate at night without getting shot. You do have to run around flashing a giant "kill me" sign that the whole universe can see to navigate at all.

I think it would be cool if we had some kind of chemically activated light source in a plastic container we could carry around to illuminate our surroundings. Maybe even make some of them brighter or dimmer than others so you can decide just how much light you need. Or perhaps add an ignitable device in game that would light up a large area for about five minutes, but at a risk of being seen from long distances by player or zombies.

I like this light idea it wouldn't give off too much light and would even make the scenery look nicer and add a more realistic effect.

very droll sir :)

but I think the point is night time isn't generally this dark, the vast majority of the time you can see quite a lot at night - where as in game it seems that the majority of nights are like wearing a blindfold.

Just set the ingame date and time to summer full moon night. Then you can see really good without light in arma.

The game has realistic star and moon cycles, the standard editor start date is a pitch black night every new mission you create.

Simpel solution set date to a bright night.
