Cant join server/bad version

I just downloaded arma and dayz and I cant join a server because my version is apparently out of date. I downloaded the game and mod through steam. How do I update to the current version?

use dayzcommander, you can install the lastest dayz version and beta patch from there

ok i downloaded it, but when I installed it it said I did not have arma II combined ops or day z installed. Is it just not detecting the correct version, or the game and mod completely? If it is still just the wron version, how do I update?

run both games to the menus with steam started as admin you may have to revalidate the files first for the first time setup to run

I've done that. The directories also match my steam files, but it still says i dont have arma installed

I got arma 2 combined ops. and the day z mod from steam

have you right clicked on the dayzmod icon in steam and selected the version from there

no but im in the middle of a reinstall right now. The first time I installed day z before arma. could that have messed something up?

yeah that probably has this time dont install it through steam then start steam as admin and run both games to the menus when in oa check to see if the following expansions are enabled

arma2

arma2 oa

arma2 baf lite

arma2 pmc lite

then try dayz commander the steam version is buggy at best

ok everything is downloading now, finally. I assume all the downloads like DAYZ Fallujah, Lingor, Isladuala, ect...are maps?
