DayZ Possible Longterm Issues

Recommended Posts

All i hear is people play DayZ in different ways but the endgame is getting a helicopter or a car.

Sandbox doesn't mean there shouldn't be strong endgame content, DayZ lacks this strong endgame and therefore the term antigame maybe.

Infected or zombies ambiguation could lead to problems to the ethics of this game because if you wanted to add different types of zombies you couldn't because they are infected not zombies.

Infected don't scare me during the ingame day they aren't very convincing so i play only night.

The infected are NPCs, why this phobie against NPC, do you all have this phobie against infected NPCs (different types of zombies) or only against human NPC characters because i don't want human NPCs either.

I hate to say this but i don't want DayZ to become more and more a tactical simulator because of KOS or bandits

DayZ is about interacting with other players. This is why fresh-spawns shout "Friendly" in cities and some people who get helicopters and gear start playing as medics, rescuers and transporters.

The people who gain experience and overcome the zombie problem tend to return to the players to do one thing or another. I can't think of any other type of "endgame" content that wouldn't add some lame MMO element.

I wish you'd elaborate on what you mean by "endgame content" so I could have a better understanding of what you're suggesting.

I don't have a problem against NPCs. I find human players much more interesting. Infected are dumb, hence they can easily be run by a computer script. Humans are much more interesting and different than computers in the fact that they are completely random. Yes, people will do some things the same, but there is always that outlier. Playing against computers, especially in FPS games gets boring because they are predictable. If you have ever played ARMA II missions you would know. Yes, the NPCs are very hard but they can be extremely predictable and I don't want that. On top of that, they wouldn't be able to be original in the VOIP communication and such.
