Heli sites!

OK, so i've heard that there are no more heli sites in dayz! is that true? just want a quick reply! Cos i havent seen em in a while!

Uhm, there is a bug on some servers where if they dont restart for awhile more and more and more pile until they are everywhere... lol

But there is like 1 new crash site type i think.

And i mean are there crash sites on every server cos i've never seen one in panthera and namalsk or chernarus in like 1 month!!!

Hmm I do not know, there are some default crashes marked on the map you could check those.

I must agree that the helisites are very unpredictable. Running around looking for sites actively is pointless for me...waste of time. Then suddenly one night I come across 4 in a row...dunno if this is a bug or not...anyway im very scared and need to suck tit soon to calm myself

Helicopter crashes are pathetic nowadays they removed zeds from them, thats bullshit right there.

Anywasy helicopter crashsites are extremely random and usually have very low chances of spawning but this depends on what server your on, for say you have a server that resets every four hours you will probably end up with only one or two crashsites, a server that resets every 8 hours will have around 5-7 wrecks but they usually are scattered at best.

Also Leviski is correct if a server doesn't reset for around a day or two you will have at least thirty helicopter wrecks on server.

Me and the op went on a hely hunt on a public german server and i 3 hours of game play found 7 of them B)

Im not bullshiting you hahaah we geared up with 2 dmr and an m249 saw and nvg and rangefinders

i have a nose for these things ;)

Actually, I think I might be able to explain...

When a server starts, there are a few heli crashes. These despawn after a while, then new ones spawn. However, they CANNOT spawn where the old helicopters were, so until a server restarts, it is possible for all of the crash site "spawn locations" to not spawn them anymore.

we went from cherno to pogorevka and found one there, continues to stari sobor and found 2 south from it.

After that we went to Vbor and foun 1 there and just west of the airfield 2 that were 200 meters from eachother

Heli crash sites are still in game, the system changed a while ago so that they spawn over time rather than all at server start, this means the longer the server is running the more crash sites will be on at once.

Also worth noting is that the system that spawns helis for private hives and maps other than Chernarus could be completely different, or simply configured differently.

The crash sites on Namalsk are fixed and permanent. On the map in game they are represented as small grey rectangles. Find them here: http://dayzdb.com/map/namalsk#5.043.061

On my server I have 2 heli crashes spawn every hour. They still work and there are no bugs. Let me know if you need help. If so PM me and i am willing to help you out.
