Hatchet into Axe.

Recommended Posts

I noticed my Hatchet tool was removed now and the Hatchet replaces your primary weapon. Well I would like to be able to chop trees for wood and keep my Winchester for hunting.

So my suggestion is keep the Hatchet as a tool that goes back into the tool slot and add a new melee weapon the "Axe" as a primary weapon for self defense.

Or melee weapons go into the secondary weapon slot because most melee weapons are pretty small in theory.

Anyways +1 or -1 and state what you agree or disagree with. Let's keep the flaming out of the suggestion threads.

Thanks.

Ill agree for the most part +1

I think a AXE for melee should fill primary weapon slot and take up at least 5 slots in pack.

I think the Hatchet as just a tool was perfect.

Hatchets are small and can hang from a belt or be strapped to a pack easily its not like its some giant item.. now a AXE on the other hand is large and heavy so I agree with it taking space and a primary weapon slot when using.

+1 I agree whole-heartedly.

Having a hatchet as a tool is necessary, replacing it's melee counterpart with an 'axe' that actually takes a weapon slot is a great solution.

If you've ever been camping you know that you don't need any tool to chop trees to gather wood to make a fire

I think the reason he decided to make it into a weapon is the logic that "if you're carrying a hatchet, you would use it."

But the basic idea in this thread i also agree with. Instead of making two versions of an axe, why not put it an item that takes up the old use of the hatchet? Put in a camp saw or something similar.

Survival knife could also take up the job in addition to skinning; a survival knife is all you really need to split wood with the help of a baton that you can make with the knife as well.
