ponduzn 1 Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) Hello!I have som problems with running dayz properly, and i really shouldnt have any problems with it at all, i know there are some known problems with arma engine and so forth, but i believe i have a good enough computer to atleast have 30+ fps stable in cities, but i dont have that, my fps in cities are everywhere from 7-25 fps, mostly 15-20 fps. Here is a dxdiag report if that may help, also i will list my spec below:DxDiag2.txtGFX : Radeon HD 7850 2GB dual fan version.CPU : AMD Phenom II x6 3.20 ghz (Common problem with amd processors, See bottom of this page)HDD : Regular HDD's ( i believe a SSD would fix much? )RAM : 12 GB 1600MHZMOBO : Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3SOUND : Steelseries Siberia v2 w\ usb sound card ( some have written that audio software\hardware may cause fps lag ? )INET : 25\5 Mbit VDSLImo the game should run perfectly, but it doesn't, even farcry 3, bf3 and so runs perfectly fine with NO lag whatsoever on high settings, even 50 fps stable on ultra.I have tweaked the Arma2OA cfg and the other .cfg, followed all guides on video settings in game to max fps, but no difference on any settings ingame barely, except AA and postprocess, wich i have now disabled. So, do you guys have any, i mean, ANY suggestions, to what i could do to improve the gaming experience, i would greatly appreciate it :)also yes, i do know that a lot of people are having this problem, but please be respectful anyways! :)Peace,PonduznEDIT:"Fixed" it.These are the commands I HAVE changed, you dont have to if you dont want to, this just works the best for me.These cfg's were located at "My documents\ArmA2\..", you may have them in other locations depending if you bought it from steam or not i believe.Open in notepad or notepad ++, depending on what you like.Do NOT copy paste these lines, edit the value only, cause there are some extra lines that is located in the same cfg's, dont override em.if there is any problem finding the lines, press ctrl + f and search.ArmA2OA.cfg:GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;FSAA=0;postFX=0;HDRPrecision=8;vsync=0;AToC=0;PPAA=2;PPAA_Level=3;Windowed=0;shadingQuality=0;mouseSmoothing=0;refresh=120; (cause i have 120hz monitor, put 60hz of you got a "standard", or put what your monitors refresh rate is.)<yourusername>.ARMA2OAPROFILE.cfg:shadingQuality=0;shadowQuality=0;blood=2;maxSamplesPlayed=32;anisoFilter=0;TexQuality=3;TexMemory=4;useWBuffer=0;tripleHead=0;mouseSmoothing=0;mouseSensitivityX=0.2;mouseSensitivityY=0.2;headBob=0;sceneComplexity=100000;viewDistance=1568.5103;terrainGrid=3.125;volumeVoN=0; (to disable the voice over side chat.)gamma=1.1301028;brightness=1.0845668;fovTop=1.03; <----these settings are for 1920x1080 resolutions, its the Field Of View. fovLeft=1.83; <----these settings are for 1920x1080 resolutions, its the Field Of View. You better be grateful, wont reply to negative comments to this, didnt intend to tell you what fixed my prob, cause you guys didnt help me.I went from 50 fps in forests to 120-150 fps,6-25 fps in cities, to 50-85 fps.ill add a few pics, with fps, and video settings.Enjoy, have fun..2nd edit:still have some problems, but as i have read alot on forums, its all crappy with amd processors and regular hdds, so for a further improvement, that would be the investment for my case atleast!Hope this helps! OrLoK 16186 Posted March 25, 2013 Hello thereI dont know anything about ATI or AMD, so I cannot really assist you, other than to say that A2 is software that will bring many rigs to their knees. You cannot *max* A2 out like one does with mainstream games. If you have followed all the available guides as you say, then there's not alot we can do.Lower your settings, I have to, to get anywhere near 30 fps.RgdsLoK

Really saddens me to hear! :/ been watching a lot of vids on youtube, where some runs dayz with a stable 60fps +, wich annoys me that i dont get!Even if i try very high settings, or low, does not matter, fps wont change, only quality.Imo i should have more than what i have, i have a feeling there is something crashing with my hardware :S but im no expert. Thanks LoK, for reply! And also, be thankful for what you have (your rig). I have been playing DayZ on a laptop and have not yet gotten an opportunity to buy my own rig.
Blondedash 403 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) battlefield 3 and far cry 3 aren't really demanding games if you said something like planetside 2 then it would be game issues. Edited April 3, 2013 by nousernamehelp
