I mean, you can probably view up to 10km, but if I am 10km away from you, I am probably not even 1 tenth of a pixel right? Henryllex~ 407 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Dont think hes shooting at 1400 meters, the lapua magnum has the same hearing distance as the AS50, 450m, but as the as50 with m107 rounds, the hearing distance is 650m, i think hes shooting you from that distance, i can tell the range myself because of the quality of the sound of the shot, if an as50 sounds drowned, ya know like if you where in a club and you are behind the room, then it is probably just 500-700 meters away, it is still a hard shot.Oh hai orlok Edited March 22, 2013 by Henryllex~ 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Shea 13 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) I've got a question to throw into the fray,I once shot to death a bandit across the Novy Lug valley, using the "mil-dots" on an M24; in other words zeroing was maxed out to 800m and I was having to estimate the shot with the hatch-lines. Considering how far away I was, in spite of it being in a wide open area, was this person incapable of even hearing the shots? Estimated distance was 950m. He got us both without us even hearing the shot, so I guessed he was at least 1000 plus meters away. But exploring any possible legitimacy, I know the AS50 and the M107 shoot faster than the speed of sound, so you would have died before you heard anything, this might be the case with the lapoona. If your friend was 600m away, he was probably out of earshot, especially if he had aggro sounds or such distracting him. Hello there Im unsure whether the limit is hard coded into DAYZ SA but in the mod version its down to the Server settings. You'll have to ask around Im afraid as there are a fair few servers.
