fatherjohn 143 Posted March 20, 2013 it might help a little, but it won't give you the gains you're expecting or hoping for. Have you searched the web for ways to optimize your settings, and editing some of your game files with Notepad? That made a nice difference for me.
xnokiax8 0 Posted March 20, 2013 i edited cfg files, and tryed ramdisk but it doesnt work (didnt appear on "My computer")Btw my windows uses 780MB of rams so only 1,2gb left for DayZ.
sheepdawg 278 Posted March 20, 2013 IMO its your CPU. Ram may help you but not anything spectacular.
Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted March 20, 2013 Upgrade your processor(CPU) first.ARMA 2 is a very CPU-heavy game.
Ken Bean 175 Posted March 21, 2013 In my experience, increasing RAM helps a lot. But since it seems to be DDR2 RAM, it should be better to go for a better CPU, new board and DDR3 RAM. Depends on how long you want to use your current rig. If you still want to use it for a while, go for 4 GB of RAM if the Bios supports that. (Should though). xnokiax8 0 Posted March 21, 2013 My motherbord supports DDR 3 rams and only AM3 socket procesors. Soo this procesor would me much better than mine and work good with dayz? AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Socket AM3, 2,7GHz, 9MB, 95W.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 21, 2013 It would do absolutely nothing. ARMA 2 can only use a max. of 2Gb RAM. Your CPU is the problem.

AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Socket AM3, 2,7GHz, 9MB, 95W.Frankly, I'm not very up-to-date in regards of AMD-Chips. The Athlon series is quite old, but still is/was pretty good, I believe. If I were you, I would buy better RAM - as if I would update my processor - in the very first place. Then try it out, look what happens. If that's not enough gain, consider to upgrade to a newer processor as well. Then you'd need to decide if you want to take a cpu which fits your sockel or if you want to upgrate the board as well.It would do absolutely nothing. ARMA 2 can only use a max. of 2Gb RAM. Your CPU is the problem. There still are loads of backround programs and the OS itself taking away RAM.
