In the Standalone, there needs to be more skins ( Not just Hero,Bandit,Survivor )

More skins would be more interesting and have a type of realism to it, E.G If i had an infection or disease, and if i were to have a red shirt, it would have flies, scratches, etc.

Just thought it would be a cool thing to have in the SA B)

There are more individual items of clothing coming mate. Rocket mentioned that eventually there will be hundreds of items (hopefully), so tehe wont be "skins" as such how they are now, you will be able to have diffrent combinations of hats/helmets, chades, shirts, pants, boots/shoes etc.

When rocket first created dayz i wish he included all the other skins from PMC like the "team coordinator" skin just remove the fancy headset and that would of been an awesome skin in dayz.

Yeah ive seen a few players talk about skins. Just check out the dev blogs and see character customisation. Which obviously renders skins obsolete.

Read the devblogs for info. There will be many clothing options for you.

I wonder how long it will be before a mircro-transactions system will be considered for unique, cool, custom items of clothing though.... I'll be disapointed if we see a load of santa clause survivors running around at christmas times.

I don't think DayZ will ever feature micro-transactions TBH.

I don't think it will either, it's just not a game where micro-transactions would work.. at all.

If it was ever to be implemented I could guarantee the feedback from players would NOT be positive and would be a very bad move for BI and the team.

Rocket has already said there would be 'hundreds and hundreds' of clothing choices to choose from which I much prefer to single whole 'skins'.

I won't be happy though until I can dance in the middle of the airfield wearing a long dress and a motorbike helmet.

hmmm yes but microtransactions are slowly becoming the "new thing" in video games.

EDIT: Sadly...

No micro-transactions. Being a survival/sandbox game like DayZ doesn't need people buying all of their gear, just because they have money. Money shouldn't be more than paper during a zombie apocalypse.

Skins would be nice in the mod though. I'd like to have different PMC skins and Soldier skins in general.

hmmm yes but microtransactions are slowly becoming the "new thing" in video games.

microtransactions are becoming 'the thing' for big companies that don't give a shit about their playerbase and only want to make money.

There are plenty of developers out there that don't constantly try to fuck their players over every single little thing.

In a sandbox game like this, it would kill it - there is no doubt about it. Any remote advantage given to a player for paying extra money just defeats the point in a game like this, even cosmetic gear would be stupid as it would give them an advantage over the players starting with the most 'HEY LOOK AT ME, IM NEW' clothing,

i believe there is another zombie survival game which implemented micro-transactions and shall fade into the annals of history.

Also i hope the clothing options dont allow you to wear a long dress and a motorcycle helmet.

I'm jealous of the A3 guys after looking at the A3 sample models and reading a few things. They'll no doubt have super skimpy camo in no time at all. What about us?! I like short shorts too damnit!

Rockets already clearly stated that he hates micro-transactions.

My worry is I do recall him saying early days that he was considering the Free To Play model for Day Z though, there was also a poll about it here on the forums from him, so he can't hate it that much. Also people might hate it but the problem is the revenue micro-transactions create tend to take the bitter edge off introducing them! Fact is we all moan and hate micro-transactions but we are the same people who make them feasible because we lap them up like fat little German kids on a chocolate factory open day!

I disagree about Day Z being the wrong type of game to support micro-transactions; its exactly the right type of game for micro-transactions, especially the way it's heading. Any game with scope for lots of personal customs (such as a clothing/skin system) and items that can add minor benefits to playing (weapons/kit/items) is exactly the sort of game that can suit micro-transactions. Day Z is a perfectly feasible platform for the micro-transactions model - think a cross between APB: Reloaded and Combat Arms.

I'm not saying that's what's going to happen though. I actually don't think it will happen as the development team have historically been very well connected and in-touch with us within the community and always seem to try to comply with our expectations. I just think it is a possibility and we should be aware of it as Day Z made some pretty big waves last year and if that continues with stand alone it will attract the attention of some of the industries big wigs who are less thoughtful about their communities. And I think I'm right in saying that Day Z (SA) now actually belongs to the development company, which means at the end of the day they have the final word...

I like idea of skins at first but how about instead of the separate hero skin for high humanity which changes you into a black man (no racist) how about you just get the shirt and bullet proof vest from reaching high humanity. The same goes for bandits. You recive one instead of your character completely changing.
