Shrapnell 92 Posted March 11, 2013 I'm installing Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead on my new laptop right now. I'd like to know what I should set it to, what I should buy to optimize my performance, and general things I can do to optimize my performance.Heres some information on my laptop:Hewlett-PackardHP G42 Notebook PCAMD Athlon II P340 Dual-Core Processor 2.20 GHz3.00 GB (2.74 GB usable)64-bit Operating SystemIt runs most of my games great. Garry's Mod runs fine, Counter Strike runs good, etc. No problems with it so far for my general games.Arma 2 has posed me problems in the past. I'd like to play DayZ lag-free; I don't care about the graphics.I'll update with what I experience when this finishes installing.

burritoman259 593 Posted March 11, 2013 Quick question does it have a graphics card? This would help greatly to know.
fatherjohn 143 Posted March 11, 2013 also, never judge how well your laptop can run a game based on its performance with garrys mod. that's like a 10 year old engine
Blindingsun 233 Posted March 11, 2013 Garrys mod and counter strike are really LOW intensity games. my toaster can run them.
PracticalTactical 164 Posted March 11, 2013 Hah I played ARMA 2 wasteland today. Noticed I was only getting 27 fps on medium/high settings. I lowered all my settings to the lowest possible...still getting 27 fps. I then raised my settings to the highest possible...28 fps. WHAT!??!
