Similar games to DayZ

Hi,

I'm not so sure if this is the correct section to post in but I do apologize in advanced if it's the wrong section.

In any case, are there actually similar (indie) games out there that have the most distinctive qualities of DayZ, particularly in areas where they i) are able to elicit real emotions; ii) allow players to construct their own rich stories and iii) explore the possible measures people would take in life-and-death situations?

The closest I could find was Project Zomboid, although it is a single player game; so I was wondering if there are any games that primarily touch on these aspects like DayZ.

I don't think there's anything quite like it which is why it's become so popular. I was about to suggest Project Zomboid but it looks like you've already given that a go.

I am personally involved in a project (Indie Game Development) that is inspired by DayZ and has a distinctive Roleplay Feel to it. It includes Skill Trees, Crafting and Barricading Elements in it.

I can't divulge more information then that at this point in time, but we are due to make an announcement in due course. :)

well, if you like the whole survival aspect and such part, i would suggest getting Fallout 3 and modding the hell out of that, starting especially with the mod Wanderer's Edition, it comes with all of the eat to survive and scavenging for items being scarce, and the whole "one bullet from one guy can kill you, but you can cripple him too" . plus, the game has zombies in it also.

....and maybe Minecraft.

The wasteland mod for ARMA 2... yeah it doesn't have zombies but everything else is exactly the same. Don't quote me on that (even though you will).

GTA:SA multiplayer mod called MTA has a gamemode dayz and it's pritty good there is loads of servers SPREAD THE WORD

I thoroughly recommend a game called the WarZ. It was in no way, shape or form copied from DayZ and is regarded by many as one of the key games of the 21st Century. Honest.

There's at least a million mods that add zombies to it, with a few jems here and there.
