I'm new to the entire ArmA II series and DayZ and such.

But something is amiss, when I attempted to play DayZ, it started up like it should but I saw LOADS of servers with the incorrect mod version and/or ArmA II version, not to mention on some server like the 404Wasteland servers, I appear to be a Crow instead of a british soldier on the roof of Elektro's hospital.

Also, the game worked for me some yesterday and now its being very stubborn, I keep freezing up JUST when the game is about to finally load.

What's the story?

You need to update you beta patch by the sounds of it,

But then what about all of the servers with the incorrect versions?

Unless people are too stupid to update their own DayZ/ArmA II, in which case I can highly understand that.

Some people just don't update their servers.

Also: While joining a server, be careful about whether it says Private Hive or not; Private servers will make you restart and you can't keep your stuff in "Official servers." It sucks spending 10 hours to join the wrong server >.>

And play ArmA 2 OA as much as you can while you try to fix DayZ; it will save your virtual life.
